Leaving Norway

source is given.
I was close to panic before the departure. One is to leave
without a clue about how it will be, another is to leave children and
Christmas decorations.
Humph. I will hardly do that again!? ... I think...
Leaving home just about in the middle of the night, with
minimal sleep for me and nil for Arild, combined with a very tight
flight across the ocean, quickly made jetlag a nonexisting problem.

Although it must be mentioned that at Schiphol I was too close
to buying a new camera at "only" €800. In the last moment I managed to
fight my way out of the store and the clerk's convincing language, thus
saving the travel budget.
Prior to the embarking on the plane to the US we were
interviewed together. The questions were so superficial I asked myself:
What's the point?
At the Memphis airport our luggage was scanned again before we
got out, so the US obviously don't trust European security crew.
Paranoia? (Events early in 2011 indicates that US has a far
greater job to do with their own).

Upon arrival at Days
Inn,
the closest neighbour of Graceland, sleep was the only thing on our
minds (no hankypanky).
Well, we also noticed that we had arrived in Elvisland; here
were photos, music, quotes, tv-channel, figurines and you-name-it,
everything focused on Elvis.
Amusing, especially since I in no way think Elvis is lousy.
His come-back show from 1968 is on the DVD-shelf and will likely be
watched several more times.
